The First Suburbs Consortium is the largest government-led advocacy organization in the country working to revitalize mature, developed communities, and raise public and political awareness of the problems and inequities associated with urban sprawl and urban disinvestment.

The Dayton Ohio First Suburbs Consortium Council of Governments is an association of government elected and appointed officials representing mature built-out communities in the Dayton Metropolitan Area. 

The mission of this Consortium is to initiate and promote public policies that maintain the vitality of our communities.   The Consortium advocates:

  • Public policies that do not create disposable communities.
  • Balanced investments in new and existing infrastructure.
  • Maintenance and enhancement of the tax base.
  • Creation of redevelopment opportunities.

The Dayton Ohio First Suburbs Consortium includes the following communities:

Clayton, Jefferson Township, Harrison Township, Huber Heights, KetteringMoraine, Oakwood, Riverside, Trotwood, Vandalia, West Carrollton
